Summer is the best time of year 🥳

It’s been so hectic over the last couple of weeks but I am enjoying every minute of it. This time of year is always busy with holiday liveries but mainly shows, clinics and more shows! It’s great!  Last week I got kicked so had a couple of easy days to just mend and recoup. Since then it’s been nonstop riding 8 or so a day 🦄  Ziggy has had a packed month on livery with me, he came to get more experience at shows, XC and improve his general schooling. He’s been super to have around and has behaved very well. We made the…

Better late than never

Sorry, I'm late with this blog its just been so busy I've not really sat down and sorted it out. in fact, I can't even remember half of what happened last week it was so busy! Monday saw the arrival of the beautiful Ziggy who I have absolutely fallen in love with, he is a 6-year-old gelding who has come for some competition and life experience for a month or so. So far he has had his first trip to Leyland XC course and a dressage competition at Ponderosa. He took it all extremely well and showed he has a super…

The highs and lows

My lovely homebred Oreo has taken to ridden life so well but has a badly bruised sole so I’ve decided to turn him back out until September time, frustrating as I would have wanted to do a bit more with him but it’s the best thing for him and being only 3 he doesn’t need to be in working yet.  On the plus side all the other liveries had a super week excelling themselves in their respective spheres of training! Colin is hacking out really well and doing some basic schooling and Snoozy has blown me away with her new attitude…

Breakers and BE

Well where to start, Monday seems like a lifetime ago! Colin and Oreo are one step closer to their ridden careers, both are now happy being sat on and moving around with me on them. Oreo was easier to convince about the whole situation whereas Colin assured me he quite enjoyed the in hand job 🤣he thankfully came around quite quickly and realised it was more enjoyable than he initially thought.  Monday also saw new sales livery Dusty arrived who’s proving to be a superstar and will be an enjoyable pony for someone. She’s done a mixture of schooling and hacking this…

A (fairly) relaxed week!

Having sold 4 ponies I decided to enjoy the peace and quiet on the yard for a week. Next week I have a new sales livery arriving and new clients coming to view the yard. I still have 5 horses on the yard one of them being “Oreo” who is my first homebred. He has come in to be backed and have some light work, he will then be turned back out until next year. So far he is progressing really well and enjoying the new routine. He took to having tack on really well and is so relaxed about things…

A quick catch up from the first half of June!

The start of June saw me banned from Facebook for nearly a week! Didn’t realise how much hassle that would cause me until it happened. The yard was really busy with liveries Mango, Socks, Toad, Honey, Maisie and Phoebe. Toad who came to be broken and produced found his lovely new home with Rebecca and her daughter Tallulah, he left me after Trecastle show where he came first and second in his classes. Mango and Socks both in to be sold and both sold quickly to lovey homes. Phoebe is still for sale, she’s a really lovely mare with a super…

SJ Equine gets a website

Well I have finally got organised and sorted a website. Can’t thank Genna Hallam enough for creating it and sorting it all out. Thrilled with it and now I’m not at the mercy of the Facebook police 😁 I’m going to start a weekly blog of what’s been happening on the yard and all horses that are for sale will now be advertised on here. If anyone is looking to have a website done I would highly recommend getting in touch with Genna at G Hallam Creative services.
