It’s been so hectic over the last couple of weeks but I am enjoying every minute of it. This time of year is always busy with holiday liveries but mainly shows, clinics and more shows! It’s great!
Last week I got kicked so had a couple of easy days to just mend and recoup. Since then it’s been nonstop riding 8 or so a day 🦄
Ziggy has had a packed month on livery with me, he came to get more experience at shows, XC and improve his general schooling. He’s been super to have around and has behaved very well. We made the trip to Leyland Court last week and he impressed everyone with his flashy jump and super attitude to it all. He then went to an unaffiliated dressage show where he did an intro A and Prelim test to score well and even get some frillys! Next he went to Talygarn for some showjumping where he again got more frilly’s🦄and finally today he did some outdoor showjumping on grass where he came 2nd.. he’s a rosettes collector already!
Colin who has come to be broken is going well under saddle now and soon will be looking for his new home. His breeder has high hopes for him in the palomino classes.
My darling Snoozy has just gone from strength to strength. We went schooling around a BS course last Thursday and she just took it all in her stride, my friends were late so I arrived on my own and she was as chilled as chilled can be! She jumped everything with style and only had one little spook at some very blue planks 🤣which was quickly forgiven! Today she then attended her first show and jumped a super all be it green round! So pleased with her progress 🥰next on the cards is to do some XC schooling 😱hoping to go Thursday 💃🏻
Alongside all of this Maisie has been prepping for her next event which unfortunately wasn’t Howick as they decided to cancel it due to lack of entries. So off to Elmwood ODE we went! The dressage is always a fairly non eventful and Maisie does a nice consistent test.. I was pleased with my test but there were clear areas I could have improved on but never mind 31 it was! On to the showjumping which looked like a nice course with lots of fillers and interesting lines. It did prove influential through all sections, anyway a clear 🥳which put me into second before the XC.. naturally our favourite part of the day 🐎the course was great with lots of good combinations.. the time looked good and I was 4th to go. To say I enjoyed it was an understatement, Maisie rose to the occasion as always and she flew round for an easy clear 3 seconds under the optimum. Excited to see the outcome I looked at the scores to see I was in joint first place 😱so it was all down to who was closest to the optimum time!
Luckily it was me 🥳🦄finally an eventing win for Maisie and I 💃🏻
Next week has lots in store, new arrivals, Harry Meade lessons, XC schooling and a trip to the beach as well as shows next weekend 🤩busy busy busy.
